About
Generations of Missourians have passed through Dr. Edmund A. Babler’s Memorial State Park's massive stone gateway for cookouts and family get-togethers or to spend time with friends. The park’s camping facilities, Civilian Conservation Corps architecture, and hiking, bicycling and equestrian trails help all visitors find their place to get away from it all, just minutes from St. Louis.

I've been visitng Babler Park since I was about 5 years old... and we love this place.
Lots of trails to walk, places to ride a bike and great picnic and camping locations.

Full of interesting trails. Wonderful picnic venues. And quiet shade. Off the beaten path so it is rarely crowded and privacy is almost always assured. One of our favorite Missouri state parks.

My family recently camped here for 3 nights over the holiday weekend. Even with it being a busy holiday weekend the campground was fairly quiet during the evening hours. The only time we dealt with the campground host was at check in but found them to be pleasant and friendly. We camped in space 2 which had a large grassy area for the kids to play in and was just a short walk to the main showerhouse/playground area. The only downside to this spot was that upon leaving we couldn’t make a left turn out of the campsite to go up to the dump station (which in my opinion is in an odd spot) so we had to take a right to turn around. Either primitive or electric only sites available.
The campground is within 10 miles of Chesterfield – which opens up tons of possibilities for shopping, eating and entertainment. If you are looking to do some exploring around St Louis area this campground would be a good home base.

Just like all the other Missouri State Parks, this is a great place to get out into nature. All Missouri State Parks are very well kept. The campground is very neat and clean. The group camp area is very nice as well. I have taken several hikes with Scouts through this park, and there is always something new to see.

Babler has a wide variety of trails, easy and difficult, short and long. Most connect to other trails so you can create your own loops. Most trails are in decent shape but you may find a few that have overgrown weeds. The paved trail has been in really bad shape for a long time. You really only can use the part from the horse trailer parking to the campgrounds. The other part is broken up and has overgrown weeds everywhere. There are very nice picnic tables throughout the park. There are also a variety of horse trails you can take. If you hike them, be prepared for some sections that have rough footing. You can also get a good workout just walking or biking the roads as there are lots of really big hills to get the cardio going. When open, there is a nice visitor's center. Be sure to do the speed limit as the park ranger will not hesitate to issue you a speeding ticket.

This campground is very clean and the pads are all concrete for the electric sites. The park offers 30 and 50 amp services. Sites are large and many sites have premium sewer/electric/water hood-ups. The restrooms and showers are clean. The park has trails and is close to many attractions. It is about 25 minutes from six flags.

I've hiked all the trails at Babler, except for the Equestrian trail. They have something for everyone. Shorter hikes & even a nicely paved trail as well. Great place if you don't have much time, since it's in close proximity to St. Louis & surrounding areas. This is my "go to" place for hiking when I don't have much time. I had a fawn following me on the trail a few months ago! The experience was priceless! There are also playgrounds & picnic areas for family gatherings. Nice park overall!

Tent camped here and loved loved loved the campgrounds. The hosts were extremely nice and helpful, bathhouse was immaculate, sites very well taken care of. Very secure campgrounds if you are traveling alone. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Missouri.

Visited for a few hours to have lunch and enjoy the park with a 2 year old. Visitor center very gelpful. Nice playground at one of the trailheads with shade and picnic tables. Lots of day picnic areas. Easy access to hiking trails and paved walking trails. Plan to visit more often as I am live in the metro area.

My Scout Troop camped here on our way to West Virginia and it is a phenomenal campground. One of the better maintained campgrounds we have been to!
