Gallatin River Guides was recommended by a friend and they lived up to their stellar reputation. This was my first trip to the area for fishing and I'm also new to fly fishing. They were welcoming, helpful, informative, and were not trying to sell me more than I needed to be successful on the Gallatin. I fished the first day... More

Our family of four (2 adult sons) had an awesome introductory experience to Fly Fishing by the Gallatin River Guides Bob and Mike. The owner Jimmy was awesome as was Patrick who helped us schedule our experience plus GRG provided all the gear needed. Each guide took 2 of us so we had lots of individual attention and education. We... More

Arrived in Big Sky a few days before the rest of our group for a ski trip, so my wife and I decided to try some winter fly fishing. Having never been to the area, we wanted to get a guide our first time out on the water to learn the area. And man am I glad we did. Gallatin... More

While in Big Sky for a few days I decided to book a half day guided trip on the Gallatin river. I love fishing, particularly flyfishing, so I couldn't miss this opportunity. My guide was Mike who looked after me very well. I never thought winter fishing can be so much fun (if you can resist the cold). I didn't... More

I had a chance to visit my nephew in Big Sky and we wanted to squeeze some fly fishing into the weekend. Only problem was I left all my gear back east and he never fly fished before. One visit to GRG and GM Jimmy A took care of everything; Excellent advice and gear as we headed out for December... More

Went fishing with Fly Fishing Guide Mike in the middle of August when fishing on the river is at its hardest. I have not been fly fishing in 25 plus years since I was a kid. Mike was able to put me back in to the swing of things on just a few cast. I was able to catch quite... More

To say I am a novice fly fisherman would be giving me too much credit. Did a 3 day trip with GRGs and had a phenomenal experience and was completely enjoyable from beginning to end! As advertised all I had to do was show up and fish, everything else was taken care. My guide, Bob, was amazingly patient and an... More

Just got back from another trip to Big Sky. The fall fishing was excellent! We are very familiar with the Gallatin and the small streams feeding into it and will fish it on our own. However, we always like to use a guide to fish the Madison River. As we have for many years, we used Gallatin River Guides for... More

Max and Josh were our guides on the Gallatin today. All four of us, including two over age 70, are novice fly fishermen. To say these guys are incredible would sell them short! They were extremely patient, excellent teachers, and just all around great guys. And they put us on a lot of fish! Gallatin River Guides exceeded the expectations... More
