Paved trail; pretty short hike. Falls were beautiful but this is not a quiet nature experience. You'll have a lot of company and need to take turns walking out to the furthest vantage point close to the falls. Probably much more dramatic in spring. Fairly...More

I had only been on a handful of hikes prior to this trip in which we planned to conquer 1-2 hikes daily. So with this being an approximate 1.5 mile, paved hike, it was a nice little ease into what was to follow later in...More

I visited Hyalite Canyon based on a suggestion from some of the locals. It is a beautiful ride up to the top. I had a special bonus when I got out to check the map of the park and I saw a black bear. I...More

The trail itself is an easy trek, but getting there is a challenge! The drive up through the Gallitan National Forest is spectacular, but the last 3 miles to the trailhead are on a very rough dirt road, so beware of that. But the lovely...More

What is intriguing about this waterfall is the fact that the water cascades over basalt columns Basalt columns like this are only found in a few other locations in the USA and Southern Africa but there is no water

The trail is mostly pave and it's a short 3/4 mile to the falls, though uphill mostly. Up the road from Grotto Falls so you can get both in about 1.5 hrs. Gallatin Nation Forest is really beautiful.

This is a gorgeous "out and back" paved trail to one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the area! We hiked it with the entire family (from 9mo old nephew to 76yo Mother-in-Law) and all had a great time! There is a large parking area...More

Nice falls. Trail paved, Not flat. Constant climb, but pretty short. Falls are backed by a Columnar Basalt cliff, with a moss covered base.I'd stay off the loose rock at the base, depending on experience or life-weariness.

Short hike in a beautiful area. Great falls to look at at the end of the path. Highly recommend. It may seem like you are driving and driving and not getting there, but keep going, you'll get there!

The hike to the falls is just a walk really. Short distance, little elevation change. The spectacular waterfall at the end of the trail is definitely a must see when in the Bozeman area. It takes about an hour to drive to the trail head...More

It all depends on how fit you are. I would say the average is about 45 minutes each way. There are a few steep areas don't be afraid to stop and catch your breath. Have fun! and remember to take some pictures.
