We are located on the East side of Great Falls, Montana at the east end of 2nd Ave North just inside the Malmstrom AFB main gate to the right. Because the Museum and Air Park are within the Malmstrom AFB perimeter, public access or non-US DoD cardholders will need to process through the Visitor Control Center located outside and just right of the 2nd Avenue Gate (6220 Goddard Dr.).

A valid US or Canadian Driver's License or ID card is required for public access. Children 16 and over will require a valid photo ID (e.g., Driver's License, State or Gov't ID, School ID). Accompanied children less than 16 years of age, do not require an ID card for access.

Non-US/Canadian Driver's License/ID Card holders may coordinate in advance as Passport or Visa clearances can take up to 72 business-hours to process for entry authorization.

Group Visits and Special Arrangements may be coordinated by contacting the museum.

Exterior Displays: F-101B/F, Voodoo; B-25J, Mitchell Bomber; EB-57 B/E, Canberra; F-84F, Thunderstreak; UH-IF, Huey (Iroquois); T-33, Shooting Star; KC-97G, Stratotanker; LGM-30G Minuteman III, ICBM; and more.

Interior Displays: One of the largest military model aircraft displays in the northwest; World War II Era barracks room; Lend Lease Diorama; Air Defense Weapons, SAGE Computer, Flight suit and Survival Equipment displays; Minuteman I and II missile launch control consoles; Minuteman Launch Facility cutaway; Minuteman III Post Boost Control System; MM II Re-Entry vehicle; Army Air Corps and US Air Force uniform display; Lewis and Clark Portage Map of Great Falls, Montana. My wife, I and our adult daughter visited there 5/15/17.Security is rather tight; it *is* an Air Force Base. Park and leave your car at the entrance. Fill out a short form and leave your driver license with them. Montana residents are required to use their passport instead. I don't know what they do for kids. A (civilian) escort takes... More

Thanks to Rob for having us and showing us around the museum. We had 12 guys in our group and I communicated with Rob ahead of our visit to coordinate authorization so we didn't have to waste time on security checks when we got there. He was very helpful and accommodating in this process and we had no issues on... More

I always enjoy going to the base air museum. It's fun to look at all of the military equipment that they have.

Interesting place to see if you are in the area. There is a museum and some air craft on the base but you need a pass and sponsor to get on the base.

Was unable to gain access was extremely disappointed as it was one of the main reasons we had travelled here, after I got back I contacted the museum, to find out why because we were told that you had to be American and be sponsored by an military person. At the gate they were fine but sent us to get... More

Thank you for your review. I do apologize for any confusion regarding you not being able to visit the museum. Unfortunately, since the museum and air park are located within the confines of an active US Air Force installation, there are certain requirements in order to be able to visit. These requirements vary depending on what form of identification is... More

Base personnel were very helpful and explained the security check necessary. We had anticipated just quickly looking at several static airplanes, but were met by the museum director, who was an astounding wealth of information. He took us to each exhibit in the small museum, answered questions, and shared wonderful stories and tales of people, places and history of the... More

Malmstrom AFB was once home to B-17 bomber training during WWII. In recent years the air field has been decommissioned. MAFB's mission is now Minuteman missile defense of the continental US. The museum has a few historical planes outside, but the real treat is inside the museum building. You learn about the history of MAFB, and of the Minuteman missile... More

As Canadians we were welcomed at the base. The adults had to present a picture ID for security check. We were quickly granted access passes and the director Rob met us. Great outdoor aircraft and bomber display including a minuteman III missile. The museum itself was very informative and included a short video. Highly recommended to anyone interested in military,...
