I never knew that the common way that Indians killed buffalo was to herd the bison off a cliff. Then the hunters would prepare the meat and the hides for their uses. This is also a very scenic overview of the area. I learned a...More

My Mom's family has a deep history in Havre, her late Sister (my Aunt) took me on this dig before it was a tourist attraction. Today this area is a protected and historically rich archeological site. The tour was guided and very informative, in fact...More

Great Historical significance! Managers are retiring so hope the Native community can manage this in the future. Three separate buildings full of archeological discoveries and actual bones and blood in the clay. Enjoyed the guide and learned so much!! Traveled from the top to site...More

This looks like a small place that might not capture too much history, but it certainly does. The guides are very informative and the preservation of the dig sights is fascinating!

Very informative. This is a must for anyone at all interested in the history of the lives of the past cultures and cultures. The dig sites are so full of evidence of what was happening in the time period...1500 to 2000 years ago.

We visited here and were lucky enough to end up with a private tour. The guide was friendly and knowledgable and even though she has done it for four years still engaged us. Worth seeing if you are in Havre.
