You can walk through this magnificant cathedral and take pictures.Itwas built in 1880 with 20 million dollars in gold mined from the area. The marble carvings, stained glass witdows and gothic arcitecture are as beautiful as any cathedral I saw in Europe.

One of the most beautiful cathedrals in America. The stained glass was shipped in from around the world and marble is stunning. All of the artwork an iron work bring the whole atmosphere of worship together. The online website provides enough information for you to make it to Mass at your convenience and for you to attend a tour for... More

Perched on a hill overlooking the city, this imposing structure is impressive to see inside and out. It is notable for the pierced carving of the towers and the statues on the facade. The interior is highly decorative with both painted designs and stained glass windows.

Due to time constraints we saw it from the outside only (once from the trolley train, once on foot). Beautiful from the outside.

This is a must see on a trip to helena. Be sure to look at each of the many stained glass windows. This gem survived the earthquake.

The rich history of this historic structure was amazing. The volunteer staff giving the tours was unmatched. They were very knowledgeable and very accommodating. There were things I didn't know about the Cathedral. I would always pass by it but never went into it. I was glad I finally stopped and took the tour.

This is our second trip to Helena and the Cathedral is as serene and beautiful as we remembered. There was Gregorian Chant playing in the background. We appreciate that most Catholic churches are always open during the day for a quick visit.
