This was our first visit, and was it a perfect day. Cold, brt the sun was shinning so there were big smiles on our face. Very reasonably priced, and not at all crowded. Plenty of good skiing for adults and kids, with a kids learn to ski school just out the back door of the lodge. Muley's is the ski... More

The roads were completely snowed/iced over. Which makes sense-- you're on a mountain. We have a beefed up SUV so it was fine but I could easily see it being not so great for a small little car. Also, the roads were pretty narrow so it made oncoming traffic interesting. The ski area, lodge, and parking lot are all at... More

What a wonderful place! Nothing pretentious here. The staff is very friendly and always has a smile to share, even the lift operators standing in 5 degree weather. The skiing is great with no lines. The Surrounding scenery is majestic.

We had two great days skiing at Blacktail. Both days we had fresh groomed runs all day as the resort was very quiet. My 10 year old son had a great ski lesson with Marissa and he was lucky enough to get a private lesson even though we booked for a group lesson. All the lifties were really friendly and... More

Blacktail is far from being the biggest ski hill in the west but is likely the friendliest. It's has runs with a variety of difficulty as well as terrain parks, lifts with seldom a wait and friendly staff.

I must admit I was VERY surprised. I have skid all over the world but I have never found such a down to earth resort that is so family friendly. Every staff was friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was delightful. OK the runs may not be as long as other resorts, but the tickets were way cheaper. Time it... More

I think I'm getting lucky but the smaller ski areas are proving fantastic. Blacktail is further proof. I walk further from the grocery store parking lot to its door then from Blacktail's parking lot to their slopes. Their burrito master customized my breakfast burrito without a second thought. I skied from the trees on their blacks to some groomed blues... More

A hidden gem in NW Montana, Blacktail Mountain is the place to go and get above the clouds. Great 360 views, well stocked with rental gear and reasonable prices make this an easy choice. After a few runs, head to the 3rd floor where Muley's bar & restaurant will have you relaxing and taking in the view.

My kids learned to ski on this mountain, I became a good skier on this mountain, and have a great day every time I go. From a low-key afternoon jaunt to a full-on, sunny inversion pow day ending with nachos and beer, there are accessible, enjoyable days on the snow for all. This is a family-run operation so is VERY... More
