Kootenai Falls. Montana

The swinging Bridge is very safe but still gives you a thrill when you cross over. The view from here is magnificant.

My husband and I hiked around the falls area and over to the bridge. It is suspended by cables so when you walk across, keep in mind you will bounce up and down! It goes right over the river and the views are amazing. It was very wet and muddy when we went so wear good hiking boots. The trail... More

Worth the stop even though we were in a hurry to get to our hotel. Nice options for lots of different hikes.

The payoff is great for this very easy hike. The trailhead is located about 11 miles west of Libby on the right. There are composting toilets and a kiosk that sells snacks (I don’t know what the hours of the kiosk are). Hiking boots help, but you should be able to hike in athletic shoes. The first 1/10th mile of... More

Living in AZ it is always a treat to be near water. The fast flowing river, the falls and the bridge were well worth the short hike down. Even on a rainy day.

We we taking a scenic loop from Kalispell to Missoula. My wife had read about the falls in a Montana vacation booklet we received prior to our trip. We looked on google to make sure we knew the general location. If there had not been a parking lot full of cars along the roadside, we may have missed it. It... More

We pulled over to let the kids run & stretch our legs and it was absolutely amazing!! It is a little bit of a hike but it is very worth it!! I walked in my flip flops and it a pleasant walk/hike!! Kids loved it. Restrooms are available. Just watch your children closely at the falls. It's steep and the... More

Couldn't wait to get to this bridge, it is a hike to get to it once there but.... awesome! The only issue as with most popular scenes is the amount of people. The bridge will only allow 5 people on it at one time, so it was hard to actually get on and walk across.... there were other people coming... More

We were on the way home to WA state from Glacier Nat'l park and made a special trip to see this bridge and falls.. it was lovely. Can be done in about an hour, but the bridge and views were so great, we took a bit more time. We also saw 4 big horn sheep on the rock slope across... More
