This place has more than the normal brain can absorb in one visit. Just close your eyes at most any of the displays and you become a part of the history you are looking at. Great indoor and outdoor Things to look at. I have been there half a dozen times in the past few years.

I am a traveling Ob/Gyn (drcathylbagleydotcom) who spent time helping out in the remote city of Miles about an hours ride from Billings Airport. Area natives directed me to the Range Riders Museum as one of several must-see attractions. It celebrates Eastern Montana's history and encompasses a host of buildings serving in themselves as exhibits. There is a nominal admissions... More

Only called in for a few mins but stayed a lot longer and only saw a small part of what was on display in the main building but there is so much more to see. Absolutely loved it here and the lady, Bunny, was so so nice and helpful. I explained why I was visiting and what my priority to... More

This is a wonderful collection of local history. To be in the memorial hall you had to be born before 1915 and live within 150 miles of Miles City. Several buildings with original gear and photos of the way life was in the early pioneering and ranching days. Too much to see in one visit. It was wonderful.

This museum wasn't originally on my list to stop at but a change of plans made it possible to stop here. I'm glad I didn't miss this place. What a great museum. Stopped at about 12 different museums on this trip and this was one of the most interesting. The lady running it told me that everything inside has been... More

This is primarily the Range Riders (men who worked the open range before 1910) sharing their memories and telling their stories. There is a ton of stuff here and what it lacks in big city polish it more than makes up for in authenticity and uniqueness.

We had come to Miles City to do a little sight-seeing and visit the Tongue River Winery, and thought we’d make a quick trip to this “little” museum. Really, it blew us away with its connecting warrens of exhibit rooms that kept going on and on. It made me think of a kind of Smithsonian of the West with the... More

Reading other reviews before I went, I planned 3 hours. It took us 4. Such a variety of eastern Montana things. There is something for everyone. Do pay attention though. In the main museum they have audio red buttons in almost every section that tell you about it. When I was there, no one else pushed them. There were a... More
