WaterWorks Art Museum (formerly known as Custer County Art Center) or CCAHC is housed in the old water treatment facility. The building itself is art and history. We are a contemporary and historical Art Museum. We change exhibits about every six weeks. Our permanent collection includes historical photographs of Evelyn Cameron and LA Huffman. We offer adult and children's classes year round and hold open studio on Tuesday evenings when anyone can use the workshop for your different mediums. We have a delightful gift shop that features local and state artists with various mediums.

The person that showed us around was friendly and fully informed as to the history and current going ons of the place. It's historically the old waterworks building and he had some interesting things to say about it. The artwork was fabulous, from interesting modern pieces to more traditional ones. They hold classes there as well. The gift shop had... More

We pulled up n front only to find s sign saying that it was closed as a new exhibit was being installed. As we headed back to the car, someone called us back- it was the executive director, and not only did she invite us in, she showed us around when she discovered we weren't locals. Thanks! Very interesting building,... More

My husband & I loved everything about this art museum! I would vote more than 5, if I could. It's such a great hidden gem in Miles City. The 2 ladies that work there are wonderful! They are very friendly, knowledgeable, and upbeat. They have 2 sections. 1 side changes about every 2 months. We will stop every single time... More

The staff was in the midst of changing out the exhibits and the museum was closed. Even though they were closed, they were gracious enough to let us come in and view the permanent exhibit. it was super educational and a real treat to learn more about Miles City and its' interesting founders. Put this place on you list of... More

As noted by another review, the center's name has changed to the "Water Works Art Museum". We were captivated by the unique setting inside a former water works holding tank. The building itself is fascinating, and is very well designed. The permanent collection has modern, realistic, and abstract works -- paintings and sculptures. The local historical photograph collections are very... More

We were so delighted with the exhibit of Montana Crafters. The exhibit was a testament to the skills of the artists. The director, Dixie was so knowledgeable and personable! She gave us a wonderful tour and explained so much of what they do at the Museum. A definite must see if you are in Miles City!

A lot of very nice art by local artists including Native-Americans. There was art for sale and we did bring some home with us.

The Custer County Art & Heritage Center has undergone a name change to the Waterworks Art Museum. The current exhibit - By Design: Wax, Woods & Welds is exciting. Stop in Miles City - spend a few Air-Conditioned hours strolling at your leisure through this exhibit - or spend the night in Miles City and spend even longer admiring the... More

The Miles City residents are good at re-purposing their buildings. The Custer County Art Center found a very nice home in the old city water works building, not far from the Ranger Riders Museum. I was pleasantly surprised at the artwork by Montana and northwestern artists. There was a nice variety of painting and three dimensional creations. I especially enjoys... More
