With the forecast of a rainy day the family loaded up in the car and headed to the range. Due to the Winter season only half the road was open to cars but we were still able to see and enjoy the trip. During our trip the Bison were all up in the hills but still visible. Closer to the... More

We were tempted to bypass this place but decided to check it out and it was worth the time and effort. We took the long drive after stopping at the visitor center and bison of course but also deer, bear, big horns, antelope, and a coyote hunting. There are some beautiful views and a few places to get out and... More

This place is excellent to learn about the bison (not buffalo) and see and experience the bison up close. We drove the short route in our RV, and it was ok to drive. We saw many bison, an eagle, pronghorn antilopes, mule deers and elk. The bison were not shy, so they wandered on the roads regardsless of the cars... More

Just an amazing experience! I saw my first bear here! I took the long drive (I forget what its called but DO IT!!! The short drive is nothing compared to the long drive and the roads aren't bad. So much wildlife and some amazing views, I highly recommend this!

We drove through the whole loop after visiting the welcome center. Won't happen for everyone, but we saw bison, bear, elk, deer and mountain goats on a single loop! Plan on an hour or two. The welcome center has a handy locator map to show what animals have been spotted where recently.

This place is highly underrated. There are a few unpaved loops which offer an amazing view of wild life - bisons, deers. One has to be patient to watch the bisons as they are visible high up - they only come down for water once in a while. I got lucky to get a few close pictures. 4 wheel drive... More

We visited in November which is "off season" for most outdoor activities in Montana. However, the scenery was beautiful we just saw more deer than bison. The longest road to tour was also closed for winter. We were very disappointed since the weather was still very nice. Cold, but nice. Maybe it would be more fun during the summer.

We always try to take out of state visitors up to the Bison Range for a tour. It is easy since you just drive around the loop. Make sure you get out and look around too. Some of the most beautiful Bitterroot flowers we've ever seen are up high in the Bison Range.

This was second trip to the range for me but detoured off return trip to Texas so that a sister could experience that area of Montana. We were also hoping to watch the annual roundup but missed that by a couple of days. Red Sleep Mountain Drive beautiful with lots of viewing opportunities up close and personal with wildlife along...
