We really enjoyed sitting back and listening to the sounds while absorbing the sites. Lots of informative plaques that help show you what you are looking at as well as learning about. We loved listening to the rivers and looking across the fields that were travelled and camped in by such a historically significant group. Great spot for pictures! Perfect... More

A few months back I visited the confluence of the Mississippi/Missouri near St. Louis. I decided it would be nice to visit the headwaters of the Missouri. I was pleasantly surprised. There were several different areas to visit, all with hiking trails and informative exhibits. A short walk will get you to the actual confluence of the Jefferson and Madison... More

We came to see the headwaters as part of a Lewis and Clark tour and were surprised to find such an inviting, full featured park. Besides the confluence itself, there are walking trails, overlooks, petroglyphs, the remains of a ghost town and extensive historical and environmental signage. Lots of picnic tables and toilets. A very nice spot indeed!

We camped in the campground one night in site 16. It was very private, with growth around the site. The host was very helpful and friendly. This was such a great park, very well kept. Beautiful views if you drive down to the headwaters. We want to come back and hike the trails sometime. We loved it there!

It was more than interesting, and almost inspiring, to think of the Lewis and Clark expedition coming up the Missouri River all the way to this point and then deciding which fork of the river to take.

when following Lewis & Clark you need to see these confluences but they are not impressive there are static displays but no real way for a real panoramic view I am glad they saved the area but would not go back

I have been here twice over the years and it's just a nice and relatively quick stop. The water is beautiful but be prepared to walk. I love history so I enjoy this place.

If you are a Lewis & Clark fan, here's another chance to walk in their footsteps in a location that has been visited by natives for over 2,000 years. Very pretty site where the 3 rivers come together. Good interpretive signs. This is our 2nd visit.

We were in the area and had heard of this park, so, being from Kansas City and long familiar with the Missouri River, decided to go see where the river begins. The late-afternoon weather was typical Montana summer cloudy/stormy-looking/rapidly changing/now sunny, so the sky over the convergence of the rivers was spectacular and worthy of photos. It was neat to... More

Great place to stop and relax for lunch and to look around. Really cool to see where the Missouri river begins. Check out all the informational signs about the park and the rivers.
