We came for a family reunion over the solar eclipse. There was more than enough space and a perfect view. Lots of places to explore, too.

This fort is set up for people to actual stay in the buildings. There are a couple open so one can see how the fort operated in the 1800's but most of the buildings are available for rent. There is a German POW camp that...More

I have looked at all the glowing reviews from other travelers to Fort Robinson. I am going to write this as an out of state traveler who camped with friends in the equestrian area. We brought our own horses for the purpose of riding the...More

We stopped here at the recommendation of others, and am so glad we did! We learned a little about Crazy Horse, which only added to our trip to the Crazy Horse monument later that day. Plus there's lots to learn about the life of the...More

There is so much history here that it is fun to walk in the places soldiers did so long ago. Some of the buildings have been maintained for overnight rental/accommodations, others are "preserved" to showcase this tiny window into history. Some of the items are...More

Nice grounds, but the restaurant is only open from memorial Day till Labor day. History everywhere. Beautiful Chadron Formation rocks ( Eocene ) all around the fort. Lovely cottonwoods and cedar trees, abound

You cannot drive through the area where you would get good photos of wildlife and landscapes. We did the 50 minute jeep ride and got photos of big horn sheep, antelope, flowers, and the beautiful view from the top. The jeep... More

We didn't spend the night and didn't have time to tour the cabins but I think they have everything. I want to go back and stay in the officer's quarters.

I stayed in 16A just last month. I took photos of 15A three years ago. Fort Robinson can email you the floor plans of all their cabins if you ask them. One place to get an overview of Fort Robinson is to go on.
