Welcome to Henri Matisse's family house!

Discover the childhood of the famous painter through the memories and pictures gathered in the museum that used to be the family's seed-shop. The antique machinery dates back to the 19th century, and all the furniture in the bedroom and the workshop belonged to the painter. After your visit, enjoy a hot or cold beverage and a typical snack in the "Cafe Couleurs", and don't forget to buy a souvenir in our shop! You can also tour the city with an audioguide, following Matisse's footsteps.

Outside of the information center on the ground floor, it's been restored to late 19th-century furnishings. It's very nicely done, and the exhibits are quite good at explaining what life was like for his family in those... More

Detailed and interesting exhibition of the place where Henri Matisse has lived; nice atmosphere, workshops for adults and kids; audio-guides in several languages.
