A "must" stop on the obvious bicycle tour around Ven.
Suberb view of the straight and easy bcycle parking (with a public toilet).
Don't miss it!

St Ibb's church enjoys a magical location, perched as it is on a rock over Kyrkbacken hamlet. Dating back to the 13th century, the church has gone through a number of changes linked to the tumultuous history between Denmark and Sweden in this part of Sweden a few centuries ago. The present church structure is very well preserved and the only down side is that the church is open only for a very limited time during the day.

The church of St Ibb lies on the northwest corner of the island of Ven.
Some of the building dates from the 12th century, and the church interior is cozy and typical of the region.

Take a look in the nearby cemetery for graves with the profession of those at rest.

Photography tip: visit in the late afternoon, coming from the lighthouse to the north of the church. The path offers great views on the church lit by the setting sun.

Highly recommended.

We stopped here for getting a good view and found a really good view of the island and the blue waters. I even went in the church and was left wondering about how old this place must be. Nice peaceful place and very beautiful.

We had a great day here. A perfect adventure for all ages.
A visit at the Tycho Brahe Museum is also recommended.

St. Ibbs church is at the far end of the island of Ven from where the ferries come in. It is a good place to visit and rest when biking around the island. It is a very old and interesting church and cemetery with lots of history. Well worth a visit!
