A stroll in the park
Aug 2021
A nice free car park, though no toilets or cafe. (About a 10 minute drive away, the Anglers Country Park has such, though it’s a Pay & Display car park.) There were leaflets in the car park showing various colour-coded routes (marker paint fading a bit), and the place is friendly to cyclists, riders, and walkers—no to quads. A few nice lakes, with some fishing. Shaded and unshaded walks, on fairly good tracks, and good for a pleasant stroll in the dry. Some sections shame dog walkers, and realistically would only be improved by poo bins, perhaps scattered around at entrance/exit points—driving away with a loaded poo-bag in your car is no fun, believe me. A few nice seats scattered about, with a picnic bench bordering the car park.

PLEASE POCK UP YOUR DOG POO!

Me and my boyfriend often come to walk our dog here, when went in January it had been snowing the day before never thought it would be as icy as it was, most of the walk was skating on ice, great fun! Just be cautious...
We have also brought the dog in summer, beautiful and peaceful walks, you could fetch a blanket and picnic and sit near the open water canal, it would beautiful.

-I always pick my dogs poo up but a lot don’t and leave it on the path, I can understand in long grass and you can’t find it. But leaving it on the path is disrespectful and rude. If you can’t pick up after your dog you shouldn’t have one.

Family walk

Lovely walk very peaceful and interesting and fun for the family. The trail leads in a big circle leading back to the car park but there are many other paths in between to explore.

Pleasant walk
Oct 2020
Pleasant Sunday walk in the woods. Spent a couple of hours here, the weather was warm and dry. Its quite a popular place and was getting busy as we left just before lunch. Woodland, heath and lakes to explore. Long and short walks and a few benches dotted about for a 5 minute rest. Its abit muddy at the moment so stout shoes or boots are a must. Great for all the family, fairly flat and good accessability. There is also the Henry Daley memorial garden and sculpture to find and see.

FILTHY DISGUSTING DOG TOILET
Jul 2020
PATHS FULL OF DOG MUCK - frankly I think this place is a public health abomination. It is absolutely disgusting. Never seen so much dog poo it was everywhere you looked.

My toddler is still a hit unsteady on his feet and fell down a few times and his hands got dirty now I'm terrified he's caught something from it.

Absolutely disgusting dog owners should be ashamed.

Dog walk
Aug 2019 • Family
A lovely walk around the park. Plenty of room in the car park even though we are in the school summer holidays.
The majority of the walk are on well maintained paths but you can go up onto smaller paths.
As it is a nature reserve dogs need to be either on a lead or under control. But it wasn’t a problem as there was plenty of room to let them off but kept them out of the lakes as there were swans with young.

One with nature

As part of a 3.5 mile walk we enjoyed seeing the ponds and lakes of Walton Henronry.

We started the walk at 8.20am and finished at 10.20am. Well worth the early morning start as it was very quiet.
