We just drive around the neighborhood and saw the very nice well kept old homes and the beautiful old governors mansion. Very nice area.

Although this is a walk-by - and don't drive, walk there on the blue line trail through historic West Carson City. The entire blue line trail is only 2.5 miles, the beautiful historic houses reflect the West of the late 19th and early 20th century, and one of them has a close connection with the man who is perhaps America's... A magnificent turn of the century building. In a residential neighborhood. The neighborhood has several houses dating from the 1850 s and onward. Many stately trees. The area is very small and can be easily missed.

While just a drive-by, we had a lovely view of this fine old Carson City mansion, now the home of Nevada's Governors.

The docent at the visitor center suggested we drive by and see the Governor's Mansion. It is a very beautiful structure with a great deal of history. It was well worth the time to stop and view the home.

The State of Nevada Governor's Mansion is located about four blocks away from the Nevada State Capitol. I enjoyed seeing it but am not positive that were I on foot walking the walk would be worth the effort. Why I ponder does anyone need such an elaborate mansion.

On special occasions the Governor and his family allow the public to tour their home.. It's a grand old Manson with lots of history and memorabilia.. It's interesting from a historical point and also to see the private living areas of the Governor and his family..

If you want to see where the governor of Nevada lives, then you found it. Yes, it looks like a mansion on the outside, but isn't specifically special to make your way to go see. Now, that being said...if it is around Halloween or Christmas, then DEFINITELY make your way to the mansion as they do a fantastic job of... More
