I arrived just before sunrise on Sunday, September 10th. The trailhead parking has about 50 spots and 48 were full. There is no parking fee, so it appears that Desolation Wilderness backpackers favor this lot. I suppose that one could park near the highway and...More

The trail to the falls is a little rocky in places, but generally easy. In several ares there are views over Cascade Lake and surrounding hills. The falls themselves were somewhat disappointing despite adequate water flow. The problem is that the trail leads to the...More

Beautiful waterfall and view of lake at the end of the hike. Rocky uphill hike with beautiful views. Bring sunscreen and water, most of the hike is in the sun.

Beautiful views of Emerald Bay and cool pools for the kids to play in! A steep hike, maybe a little intense for the kids but scenic!

The views all along this hike are fantastic. The falls at the end are the icing on the cake. We were there in summer of 2016 and the water flow was pretty minimal ... but still gorgeous. I can only imagine what it's like this...More

Cascade Falls is flat out gorgeous and I am very glad that we made this impromptu stop while on our road trip. There are 2 “main” waterfalls in this Southwestern area of Lake Tahoe (this one and Eagle Falls) and this one seems to be...More
