This beautiful, glaciated valley is just 40 minutes from Elko and well worth the drive. There are few interpretive signs so you might want to get a guide book at the Elko Visitors' Center.

A gorgeous hike to several lakes in the beautiful Ruby Mountains near Elko, NV. We hiked up to the pass since we were on a day hike (about 9 miles roundtrip and 1400 feet elevation gain). But backpacking is great to the several lakes on...More

Just a 30 min drive from I-80 at Elko, so it's worth visiting if you're driving by. And, it's free. Don't make the same mistake I did: I lived in Northern Nevada for 15 and never visited Lemoille Canyon. I discovered that Lemoille Canyon is...More

Beautiful glacier carved canyon with nice picnic spots and camping. Great hikes to some of the many lakes and vistas. Well groomed trails. I've seen many and this is way at the top of the list.

This is the best kept secret in Nevada. Great hiking camping fishing and day picnics. The fall is beautiful with great Aspen colors and waterfalls. There are several mountain lake to hit to. Fishing for brook trout in the canyon steams is worthwhile.

We live nearby and Lamoille Canyon is spectacular. You frequently see bighorn sheep and if your eyes are good enough, mountain goats. There are campsites that accommodate RV's. This really is a hidden treasure that you would never know existed when driving by on I80!...More

Such a beautiful walk. Went on the Lions Camp trail along the river. The beaver ponds, rock formations and light play was breathtaking. Will go back again and again.
