The strip outside Venetian and Ceaser's palace was beautiful, celebration mood everywhere. It was teeming with energy even at 2 am.

Every hotel has a self parking charge $14.00 1-4 hrs. Fremont at night is LOUD, with lots of CRAZY people. The Rio Hotel is SERIOUSLY dated N un- maintained! Our view of the Strip was a homeless tent city under the bridge. Food WAS EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE! Hookers everywhere! The Glitz n Glam of Vegas is GONE!! Very Trashed Now!

On the top of the glowing lights and huge fun along the strip especially during nights, I liked the diversity. I could see representatives from all continents, nations, countries, etc. in one place who interacted with each other all the time without a single issue.

Most of the strip was ok but there was a few areas that I would avoid if I was alone or just at night- period! It will filled with homeless and sketchy looking individuals.

Casinos, hotels, top brands and fun. Most glittering, some busier than others. It was an experience to walk around the Strip. Best not done a sunny day, due to the desert heat . Evenings are cooler and more crowded too.

The strip has so many amazing and free things to see. One of the is the volcano at the Mirage. I am so sad to see them getting rid of it

On day 10 of our epic road trip expedition, we finally landed up in Las Vegas, Nevada. As a tourist had to do “The Strip” drive by. The Las Vegas strip is a 4.2-mile-long world renown boulevard located south of Las Vegas city limits. As one cruises up or down Las Vegas Boulevard, you will observe a plethora of hotels, casinos, and a variety of other amazing sites. Many of the largest hotel, casino, and resort properties in the world can be found on the Strip. If you enjoy looking at fanciful buildings with amazing architecture, you are in for a treat. The Luxor with its pyramid shaped building, Bellagio with dancing water fountains, and the giant 100-foot-tall Coca Cola Bottle and Giant bag of M&Ms in front of the Showcase Mall are impressive. The Statue of Liberty at the New York – New York Casino and the 540-foot-tall replica of the Eiffel Tower at the Paris Las Vegas are unbelievable. Contributing to the wow factor, is the amazing colorful lights from the different properties. Pedestrian traffic on both sides of the Boulevard range from weird to “Holy Molly.” One sees celebrities, the bedazzled tourist, and a never-ending parade of homelessness individuals, street performers (dressed up in costumes to look like whoever “is in this week”). Observed several Donald Trumps, (one with pink hair), a half dozen Elvis, Elvira, and a mob of weirdo characters ranging from Homer J. Simpson to the Walking Dead. Numerous showgirls in all stages of clothing from evening gowns to almost bare will attempt to entice you to take a photo with them. Remarkably interesting. Every block seems to have a Con artist who will attempt to sell you everything under the sun. If you want to buy the Hoover Dam or the White House, you are in luck. Someone will sell it to you for a fee. Traffic is a nightmare on the amazing street. Everywhere you look, you will find something different. The entire drive up and down “The Strip” took approximately an hour. Be advised you will never see it all. If this is your first visit to “Sin City,” suggest driving the route first, and then park and utilize the foot mobile to take a closer look at specific areas of interest. Due to the severe heat, dress appropriately, venture into the different casinos when you need a break from the sun and use caution while on the sidewalk. Enjoy and have fun.

A place you need to see once just for the experience. However- pretty much overcrowded and somewhat unsafe feeling. Not for the faint hearted 🥴

There is a lot to be seen, including the overwhelming amount of homeless folks there on the streets. There are a few characters there, too, including Elvis impersonators, as Elvis is by the way, dead.

Hello. We have our first vacation to the Vegas Strip booked at the Venetian in late May. Reviews are making us rethink our plans. We will have our two teenage daughters with us. Is it safe for our family to be on the strip? How concerned should we be with the drug use, crime, and overall sketchiness of those other than tourists like us?

i have been Vegas more than 10 times and just stay Venetian in November 2021.
As long as you travel with kids all the time is fine.
I will suggest going day tour
1) helicopter tour from west grand canyon for
Grand Canyon Discovery by maverick helipcopter
2) family photo at Skywalk
3) upper or Lower Antelope Canyon & Horseshoe Bend
4) Gondola Rides at the Venetian
5) watch show
6) Eiffel Tower
have fun and stay trip :)

Doing a surprise 40th bday trip for my husband in July and his two of his best friends as an all guys trip. What hotel would you recommend they stay at? He’s never been and always wanted to go. Any suggestions would be helpful! Thank you in advance 😁

Planet Hollywood right in the middle of the strip or Ceasers just like the guys from the movie The Hangover! Can’t go wrong! They will absolutely love it!
Are there electric wheelchairs available to rent?

Really want to take my husband back to Las Vegas for our 5th wedding Anniversary, but not if there isn’t anything open to do. Is there anything you can actually do during this pandemic right now?

Right now yes! Mostly everything is open. Some places have a max. But make sure to just set reservations before you go anywhere and you should be fine.

Are the casinos up and going. We were hoping to come for our 15th Anniversary last part of August

Some are open, but some not, and with a spike in Clark County cases, there is talk of closing again.
There are a dozen active threads on the Las Vegas Destination Forum, which get updates daily, if not hourly.
I would head to that Forum, and bookmark a few of those update threads.
Best of luck, and happy anniversary,
Hunt

What is the best/most cost effective way to get around while in Vegas? Only there for 3 days (and there are three of us). Thanks in advance.

Depends on where you are going. If just around town, Uber or the bus are best. If wanting to go to Hoover Dam or hiking out of town, you can use Hotwire to get a really cheap car. Pick up at the airport

Planning my first trip to Vegas in early April - any safety concerns for a solo traveler?
I know I want to see the canals at the Venetian, possibly ride the High Roller (even though it scares me lol), see the Flamingos, check out Minus 5 Ice Bar and ride the Monorail... and play poker and roulette of course!
What else should I see / do that is reasonably priced? Any tips for a solo traveler?
Thanks! =)

Helicopter trip over the Grand Canyon with Papillon Tours was superb although a bit on the pricey side.
Slotzilla zipline on Freemont St is awesome fun.
Venetian Casino canals, shops and food court are great as are the Forum shops at Caesars Palace. Avoid shops at the Cosmopolitain as they are all high end.
High Roller Wheel is a must. Take the Happy Hour rotation if you like a drink. Bar service is fast and you can make it pay for itself if you knock a few back :)
Don't miss the Bellagio Fountains, they're amazing and free.
Freemont Street at night is brilliant fun and if you go there, take a slice of pizza at Pizza Rock-it's out of this world.
Other cheap eats: Shake Shack, The Donut Store near Freemont St, Grimaldi's Pizza (various locations) and snacks in Eataly are all reasonably priced as is In n Out Burger on the Linq promenade. On the pricier side, Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars Palace is superb and if you really want to splash out on a meal, The Eiffel Tower restaurant is just the best. Work some overtime, get saving and treat yourself. Have an amazing break, as we did 👍
As for the down and outs, girls dressed as showgirls asking for pictures, then trying to charge you, also people dressed as super heroes and Disney characters, little Asian women trying to sell you bracelets and men who will give you cards for prostitutes. Either look away or politely say "no thanks" and they will leave you alone. We thought it was very safe as long as you do expect to witness some or other erratic behaviour on the strip around once every ten minutes.
