Take the road to the dam, stop at the larger parking lot for the bridge and take the hike up to it and on pedestrian path along it. You'll get great shots of the face of the Hoover Dam. Definitely noisy with the traffic whizzing...More

Last visit to the Hover Dam was 30yrs ago. They have really made made this welcoming to visitors. If you have never been, take a half day and see one of the great wonders of the world.

We take this way from Kingman AZ to Las Vegas for our shopping and doctors trips. Much more scenic the going from Laughlin thru Searchlight to Vegas.

Great for a quick get away! Not far from home. Much easier to navigate now with the bypass. Not so congested.

We stopped off here on the way to the Grand Caynon. The dam is a beautiful place. Lots of information on the place. The view is great.

If visiting Las Vegas you'll want to take in Hoover Dam for sure. Most people remember superman standing there holding back the water but it's nothing compared to actually being there. Be sure you wear comfortable shoes as there is a lot of walking to...More

Trying to figure out if we should pay for the tour? Has anyone gone and done the tour and also not done it, to compare. We are a family of 5 so it would be rather costly. Not sure what we do if we don't go on the tour.

I highly recommend paying for the tour as you get to go deep inside the dam and it is amazing to see how they carved through the solid rock to create the tunnels. Every part of this dam is worth experiencing.
