The Turquoise Chief has many many types of turquoise, and it would take many trips to the store to truly appreciate all that he has. Some of the pieces are unique, some he made himself. For lovers of the stone, this is a MUST SEE. You won't regret it.

Our favorite gem and Native Collectible store, with so many unique and wonderful gift ideas and specialized repair services, is now located at 1000 East Charleston Blvd # 100 in the Charleston Bazar Shopping Center. Chief Bob has even more room for fun stuff in his new store, which is very close to his old shop. He does need his... More

Caught an Uber car to the address for A Traders Turquoise Chief yesterday, and the store is closed, empty, and gone. There was no sign that we found leading to a new location. Fortunately the Uber driver was able to take us on to another location without dropping us and leaving us at this address.

Went to get some gifts and some turquoise for myself. Chief knows everything about his gems. He said he has been collected since he was 8 years old. Ended up with 3 bracelets and earrings. Unique creations and we are returning again May 2016. 😃

This is one of the best little stone shops I've ever visited. It is packed FULL of interesting loose stones, empty settings & fully finished jewelry as well as Native American artifacts but the best treasure in the store is the Turqoise Chief. He's quite a character! Full of stories & willing to share! Don't buy the overpriced stones in... More

We went looking for a unique gift for family. Had looked all over the West and Alaska for a antler handled filet knife for our fishing daughter. They did not have a filet knife but many skinning knives. Owner offered to take a nice, older filet knife with wooden handle and put an antler handle on for us. Excellent price... More

A lot of turquoise jewelry, very reasonably priced. Bracelets, belt buckles, pottery, knives. I met the chief and he seemed very friendly. I will definitely be back!

Wandered here from the Downtown area, both SDX and The Deuce stop nearby. Some people are right, the area feels a little rough around the edges, but not totally unsafe. If you find the Viva Las Arepas, it's on the same block, right next to it. Of course, you can look for the three mannequins currently outside, too. The place... More

This shop is always a hit- you need to warm up to the owner who is a bit rough t first- but he warms up....and you have to be willing to spend time looking as there is so much in this shop...but we always walk away with precious, unique finds!!!

I narrowed my choices down to to rings, so many to choose from. Sugilite and turquoise. Flying back today and during my visit I will get a White Buffalo Turquoise ring. So many to choose from maybe a coral one too.
