- Ros TDevizes, United Kingdom666 contributionsFree to wander round and see some amazing carsWe got the Deuce (bus) up the strip to visit Shelby. If walking follow the arrow on the building along Windy Road to reach the entrance via the pedestrian friendly walkway. Once inside, just do the self guided tour and wander amongst some amazing cars and lots of info.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 26 November 2023
- Shelby H7 contributionsIn love with Shelby Carroll's mustangsI absolutely love mustangs of any kind. I was like a kid in a candy store. It showed the history of how Shelby Carroll started the company and how it grew. You can see mustangs from different years. You can even see into the work bay area where they do the tours. If you go make sure you can take a tour. We will be back so that we can take a tour next time.Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 13 August 2024
- QuigglesHavre, Montana14 contributionsIf you like cars, please go!There are 2 choices - you can go in and look at the cars for free. Or, you can pay ($59, I think) to take a guided tour - this comes with a gift bag with Shelby merchandise in it. We opted for the free tour. My girls had absolutely no interest in this, but hubby, son and I really enjoyed it! Beautiful cars. Great info. Totally suggest this! If you're not into cars, there are some benches to sit on while you wait - they are inside, so out of the weather. There is a shop where you can buy Shelby merch - t-shirts were $30, so not totally outrageous. And, I'd just like to say that if any of the owners of those vehicles (some are on loan) feel generous and wanted to let me drive one of these for a little bit that would be ok with me!!Visited August 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 24 August 2024

Shelby Heritage Center is a must stop for any sports car enthusiast. Mike Dempsey, who is Shelby American’s Historian/Tour Guide, is very passionate about the topic, which is to outline the life of Carroll Shelby, as well as the cars that he was involved in developing and racing. Visitors can self-tour during their business hours, but I would recommend attending the free guided tour which is at 10:30. The tour is unique in that the tour participants are involved, and provided small scripts so that they can role play different people that were involved in Carroll Shelby’s life story. A great experience. Seeing the different cars was awesome, and they also allow you to view the factory floor where they continue to build Cobra Mustangs, and last but not least, there is a wonderful gift shop.

If you are a car fan, you will be in heaven. This place is VERY cool. Lots of awesome cars on display. You can even take one home (if you have lots of extra $$$). The tour is FREE and the guide was very good. If I am being honest it was really hard to hear/understand him unless you were standing right in front of him. It was a very large group and at times I had difficulty. With all the $$$ coming in/out of this place they could stand to update their sound system. But that is my ONLY complaint. Next time I will look into the more personalized tours (small group) which at $40-50 sound very reasonable and even include some free swag. Speaking of swag, there is a very large gift shop with every imaginable piece of merch you could get and the prices aren’t half bad.

TA advertises paying to book this tour... don’t! It’s 100% free and at your leisure. One of our uber drivers told us about this place and it has easily become my favorite thing to do in Vegas. If you’re into old cars, the Carroll Shelby story, or his legacy of giving, this will be the place for you... about 20ish cars in total, but you can walk into the factory and see m still repairing and building today. Awesome place with a great gift shop for Shelby fans.

My wife also liked the Ford vs Ferrari movie and enjoyed this tour. The info shared is more about the personalities of the people who made awesome (and very successful) things happen, and not so much the cars. Our tour guide was great. He picked people out of the crowd to role play Carol Shelby and Enzo Ferrari (and others) and gave them scripts to read. Carol and Enzo had bad blood between them going back to what each did in WW2 which motivated them to compete against each other years later in the racing world. Really cool inside info and a fun tour.

Unique museum and assembly facility all under the same roof. Several important Shelby vehicles on display in the museum portion. Guests are allow into a protected area of the production facility for a first-hand look at new Shelbys as they are transformed into high performance machines. Nice gift shop area and, if so inclined, you can order your new Shelby on site.

Apparently, we lucked into visiting on a very cool day. They were having a Ford vs. Ferrari experience the day we were there and had a bunch of cool stuff going on including free food, virtual pit crew challenge and autograph signing by the stunt drivers for the movie. So I'm not sure what it would look like on a typical day, but I know they have some of the old Shelby race cars on display all the time, plus the shop in back where they are converting new cars to the Shelby package.

Outstanding museum dedicated to the ideas and story of Carroll Shelby. Docents are fully knowledgeable and the 1 hour tour which is free is definitely worth it. See the great old American made Shelbies in mint condition as well as the school that trains mechanics there.

At the recommendation of a friend who’d visited previously we headed out for a couple hours to see what this place was all about.
A quick google identifies it as a recurring recommendation for best free things to do in Vegas so nothing to lose here.
Located not too far from the strip, we drove but an Uber or Lyft wouldn’t be expensive at all. We timed our visit deliberately for one of the free tours and weren’t disappointed.
The tour lasts an hour or so and the guide was amazing. Knowledgable, passionate and engaging he talked us through the history of Shelby, the man, Le Mans and the cars and thankfully (for me at least) didn’t get into too much car mechanics detail.
I was wary it might be a niche experience for real car enthusiasts but needn’t have worried. A really well priced Shelby gift shop rounds out what was an informative and enjoyable 2.5 hi a away from casinos and beer!

Great working museum. The tour and tour guide are brilliant, actually brings you into being part of the story by recreating Carroll Shelby’s fight for supremacy against Enzo Ferrari. Sheer class.
The historical cars on display ............ AMAZING! Definitely recommended

The basic museum is free. Being a little limited on time, we chose to do that and the merchandise store. Beautiful cars. One can see them all in about 30 minutes, or if you are lucky and a tour is starting you can tag along and listen on. The merchandise store had lots of neat stuff at not too outrageous prices. Buying stuff at a Ferrari or Mercedes or BMW dealer will cost you a lot more.

Hi everyone. Hopefully visit the museum whilst in Vegas soon. I'm dragging Mrs T around who's not a huge petrol head, just the wondering how much time it takes to see the museum properly. Many thanks in advance Pete

Well,
My friends and I used a Taxi Service or Uber Ride-share service.
Those people know where everything is in Vegas and surrounding areas. They will get you there quickly and reliably.
Have Fun, it's a wonderful, Shelby Car Enthusiast Place!

What transportation is suggested to get to the Carroll Shelby Museum in Las Vegas and how much does it cost.
Written 25 August 2018
Taxi, Lyft or Uber. Cost depends on where you are at. South Las Vegas Strip can be $10-15.
Written 26 August 2018
How do i get there by public transport ? Are there only shelbys on display or even other mustangs on display ?
Written 28 May 2018
The SDX express, a double long bus that runs on Las Vegas Boulevard will get you there. A 24 hour pass is approximately $8. Take the bus south past Mandalay Bay to a stop near Sunset Road. You may need to get off at Town Square and walk back to Sunset. Go East on Sunset along the right side of the road. The Shelby Museum is on the right side of the bridge, along the freeway frontage road. Yes, there are many other cars on display. Pleas check their website for current operating hours.
