Ever since I read the "Outlander" series by Diana Gabaldon, I became very interested in Culloden. And when our family group decided to go to Scotland, that is one place that I insisted we HAD to see. We arrived at the Culloden Battlefield Visitor Centre...More

The modern visitor centre gives not just a description of the battle, but places the whole '45 in its historic context; and also deals with the aftermath. The internal exhibitions are comprehensive, but the external information boards are weathered and need refurbished to be readable...More

A great visit and very atmospheric historical battlefield, with lots of informative notices throughout. Definitely worth a visit. The virtual theatre is amazing with the sounds and view from the centre of the battle. Fantastic shop too , especially for all you Outlander fans.

My family thoroughly enjoyed our recent trip to Scotland. One of the highlights was Culloden Battlefield. Located near Inverness, this site is definitely a must see if you're in the area. The visitor center and exhibit paint a vivid picture for both sides of the...More

The Culloden Battlefield & accompanying exhibit does not disappoint. For History Buffs or just folks this well thought out & laid out exhibit is so worthwhile. The exhibit traces the how the balttle evolved from both sides & has many hands on 'eyewittness' recordings done...More

The Visitor Centre was well done and helped to tell the story of the Jacobite Revolution and its profound impact on Scotland. Walking the field was a solemn experience.

The visitor centre provides copious amounts of information, not appearing to favour 1 side over the other, in telling the story of the Jacobite uprising and its ultimate demise at Culloden in 1746. We didn't go out onto the battlefield itself as the weather turned...More

Easily 3 hours. It was cold and snowing outside so I could have spent longer but came in out of the cold to read some more inside

No. The ticket you buy at the visitor center is for admission to that facility and the battlefield. We had a car so we drove. Ask your hotel. Have you tried Uber?
