It's a short ride on the old V&T tracks down to Gold Hill then back. Conductor keeps it interesting and the kids liked the ride. No restroom but the ride is only about 35-40 min so you can hold it. Railroad buffs (not me) will...More

We took the 35 minute train ride to Gold Hill and back. It was a great way to see the mines that made Virginia City and to learn about the history of the town. The conductor was outstanding. Definitely worth the $10 ticket.

I can't wait to bring my children and grand children back....I love supporting a place that thrives on volunteers that keep the American history alive. The train and the entire town of Virginia City should be very proud.

Quick trip but entertaining and educational. The conductor knew his stuff and presented it well. Beautiful scenery! Only negative was that it was a bit short!

Took the 35 minute $10 tour out to Gold Hill and back. Be sure to get a left sided seat- that's where 99% of the sights are. The tour guide was friendly and had some corny jokes but that was all part of his charm!...More

Nor sure about riding in the cab, though it sounds like it is a possibility. The longest option is the ride from Carson City (Eastgate) roundtrip to Virginia city. The ride is approximately 1.5 hours each way with a three... More

I have never been offered any assistance to get on or off the train in my wheelchair. So, I do not believe that it is currently handicap accessible. I am guessing that the stairs are 3-4 feet high, as it is a bit of a... More
