My family and I took the steam Cog up to the summit. First of all be aware that by the time you get your tickets and take the round trip you will spend 3 plus hours. The day was a very cloudy day. The trip...More

Took the opportunity to ride the Mt Washington Cog Railway with friends today. I'd always been hesitant to even consider going up this steep mountain I'd hiked 3 times in the past. It was in the 80's and beautiful sunshine at the base. Obtained our...More

Afterwards our teens wanted to hike to the top. Very doable given 5-7 hours. Cog railway was fun tho. 70 degrees to 37 degrees in an hour. Cold and rainy at top. We hear the views are spectacular on a clear day. No views for...More

We did this with our three teenage daughters on a beautiful day in early June. Pictures and videos can't do it justice! 1 hr up, 1 hr at top, 1 hr down, 37% Slope in places. A beautiful day - I understand it is not...More

Although tickets are on the expensive side this is an experience that should not be missed. All in all including the travel up and down and a walk around the top it takes about three hours. We were very fortunate to go on a sunny...More

The train holds a lot of people and yet there is plenty of room. You can move around and get photos at different points during the ride up and down. I think it would be a little difficult if you had some physical issues getting...More

More than a plane. Very comfortable ride. The seats can face forward or towards one another if you are in a group. But with such a steep incline going up, it's best to have the seats facing towards the mountain. My... More

I am planning to visit the area in the middle of October. 1. has anyone experienced motion sickness riding cog railway? I am usually fine with trains, but never been on anything like this. 2. Will the tickets be sold out for the fall foliage season? Can I still buy the tickets on the day of or 1 week before the ride? Thank you!
