I have grown up in a family that loves trains, and have visited the White Mountains area on several previous visits, but yet never rode the Cog. Happy to report that one of my Bucket List items is now done. On a mid July day,...More

This is a great trip up Mt. Washington for any age but since I don't feel able to make the hike this seemed the best way. The drive out to the location from North Conway was beautiful and getting another look at the historic Mt....More

Riding on the Cog Railway is a unique experience and well worth the cost. Beautiful views and a great commentary about the history of the railway and the local area. We took one or the first trains up and had beautiful weather. Always check the...More

We took a ride on the historic Mt. Washington Cog Railroad. It was the first railway up the mountain and the first place to develop the technology to make the summit. They even build their own engines and cars today! We rode on their newest...More

This was a really fun day for me and my husband as well as our two teens. Where else can you ride a cog train up a mountain! It's a must do if you're visiting the white mountains.

I had taken the van before but this is quite different. It might be pricy but worth the price of $65 each senior. $69 adult, kids are less. You can arrive 15-30 minutes before the train and should be able to get on or wait...More

While the price is steep, the cost is worth it. The uniqueness and view are unmatched, and our brakeman Eli had an enthusiasm for his job that made learning about the railway fun for our young children as well as for the adults. Very knowledgeable...More

The Mount Washington Cog Railway is the only cog railway east of the Rockies and is really a phenomenal, albeit expensive experience. The staff is courteous and the experience completely unique. I've climbed Washington before and it was cool to see everything from the train...More

Very Safe and fun! Staff are friendly and knowledgeable! We did not get the views at the top as it was cloudy but still had a great time! Stay at the Omni Mount Washington as it is elegant and very close to the Cog Railway!

What a ride. This is awesome. No rushing here, you chug up the mountain at a top speed of 5mph. The views are beautiful. The conductors are very informative on both rides up and down. The hour at the summit is plenty of time to...More

When boarding the train you have to walk a short distance over the tracks. They have a step to assist you with the first of three steps. There is handrail but the best part is that the brakeman is there to help. The... More

The steam train is truly authentic. You must be prepared to experience the use of coal as a locomotive fuel. That includes smoke, cinders and other effects such as the smell associated with the burning of coal. The steam... More
