A nice beach in Delaware which is quieter than some of the more well-known beaches further south (Rehoboth, Dewey, Bethany). No boardwalk and far less activity and facilities--but maybe it's just for you? There's a nice pavilion and public rest rooms where Slaughter Beach road hits Bay. You can look for Horseshoe Crabs -- and right side them if they're... More

I live approximately a 15-minute drive from Slaughter Beach. I love to come here and walk south along the beach along the Prime Hook National Wildlife Area. It is very relaxing to walk the beach and hear the waves lapping against the sand. I usually encounter very few other people when coming here. If you are a beach comber there... More

The beach was deserted when we went and we walked and walked. Not much to do but enjoy the quiet but it's my kind of beach. We will definitely be back.

We were intrigued by the name so we decided to stop on our way back home from Rehoboth. What a nice little area. We were welcomed by a group of masons who brought a ton of food for those at the beach. They had burgers, dogs, ribs, mac n cheese, drinks all for the community. This was a great experience... More

Slaughter Beach; home to the Milford Neck Wildlife Area provides for a relaxing time, away from the hassles, hustles and bustles which life throws your way. The beach is picturesque, quiet and pleasant. The Spring and Fall months are particularly nice; with abundant nature sightings of many types of shorebirds, foxes, Diamodback Terrapins, deer, and of course the famous horseshoe crabs... More

Not a lot of people bring food, drinks, and chairs chairs. Great to just sit and watch people. People fish here (permits at Walmart) also fun to sit and watch (free). Not a lot of beach treasures, but you never know just what will wash up. We like smooth stones for the garden. Very peaceful just to sit and watch... More

You drive back a few miles and think you're in Iowa. All farms, tons of flat land, corn. You pull to the side and see a beach access. You walk between houses and it's a beach. You'd think it's a big lake with little waves. A lot of weird things on the beach and it's fairly narrow. A lot of... More

A natural beach, rocky at times, and tidal. With the tides out you can walk out far and explore. With tides in, swim , fish, sail etc. Quiet and natural, a nature preserve. If you want lots of people and more services just head south 20 minutes.

This is a great beach if you like privacy. No boards, no vendors, no noise, just the waves rolling onto the sand and seagulls. No one was on the beach except for a few people walking their dogs. Very quiet setting. Different than the ocean in that the beach had pebbles and polished stones. A few horseshoe crabs floated in... More
