This was a hard hike (we did the Franconia Ridge Loop) and it took us nearly 11 hours. We are experienced hikers and it still kicked our butts! Still definitely worth it

It was too early for foliage but still nice to be there and drive through. Made a few stops to check the sights out. All in all a good day.
The Franconia Notch is a natural wonder and absolutely beautiful! The trees and water add to make a perfectly peaceful place to explore.
There are many great trails that start and finish here. I hiked with a school group from Crawford Notch to Franconia Notch, staying in the AMC huts. Well worth the visit.
Apparently there was a big deal made of whether or not to build the Parkway, as it would spoil the Notch. I can perfectly well understand their concern. This is an absolutely beautiful part of the world, nicer than Kancamagus, by far, In my opinion.
Stop in the Notch and have a wander to admire the beauty of the mountains. Great to drive or halk bike or walk.
If mountains and woods and waterfalls, lakes and streams is your idea of heaven....you'll find all of that here. Just cant say enough about how beautiful this entire area of NH is!!
Nice area of NH - great countryside with views of streams, rivers and surrounded by mountain ranges. Make you way up near Sunset Inn (Sigar Hill) for great panoramic view of ranges.
