Started with a service minded ranger telling the best route to the top of the mountain. The hike is quite strenuous as it is a quite significant elevation. Almost 2000 feet in around 2 miles. But the trails are good and the marking of the...More

My husband a I recently did the hike to the summit (white dot up, white cross down). The hike was challenging, with quite a bit of rock scrambling, but the views were well worth the effort. We had lunch at the summit and enjoyed the...More

Trail was awfully wet (we climbed in April) and there was still snow on the ground, but it was a rewarding experience and a great view from the top.

I have hiked Mount Monadnock a number of times with family and church groups, but I have to say this is the best time of year to do it. The colors were beautiful and there was no humidity. This is not a large mountain, but...More

Monadnock Mountain hiking is just half way between NYC and White Mountains. It breaks up a long drive nicely. Although I stayed over night this time I have done it on a same day. Strenuous going up by White Dot, less strenuous down by White...More
