Keene is such a lovely town, and while it is actually a small city, it feels so much more like a town, and Central Square is the focal point of that beauty, in all seasons. The gazebo, the church, restaurants, coffee shops, all right within...More

Except for events like the Christmas Tree Lighting, for which traffic is excluded, this is an awful place to sing (I have done this several times) and even highly amplified music is difficult to hear when trucks and motorcycles are only 15' away. Central Square...More

We had no idea how nice downtown Keene was--shops, restaurants, bars, old buildings, churches--it's a very pleasant place to stroll, shop, eat and drink.

Keene's Downtown is a great place to see the square, check out the church, unique restaurants, chocolate maker, theater, coffee shops, clothing shops, and local goods shops. Close by is the Farmer's Market (Tue and Sat, in season) and the Coop. Supposedly, Main Street is...More

A great walk-around within beautiful Keene. Quaint shops, shaded sidewalks, beautiful gardens, and friendly natives. If you have an hour to spare, you couldn't find a better place to spend it.

This area is the north end of town. Has restuarants, shops, and a very quaint area that you can walk around if the traffic is not too crazy

We walked through Central Square on numerous occasions during our brief stay in Keene. There were so many shop windows and restaurants. We would like to visit this area again.

A colonial white steeple leads you to a familiar homey small New England town center on a green. Good shopping and some excellent restaurants combine with provocative discussions concerning todays events. Short walks carry you to interesting side streets, lodging, and two candy shops to...More

I will second the comments made by Wombat 27. The Keene Main Street and in particular the view of the UCC Church steeple looking through the trees during Fall foliage is a sight to remember. In summertime concerts are held... More
