Found by mistake! Just taking a road trip with my daughter and wanted to see something in New Hampshire. We both love history so this was great. The view is beautiful and the lighthouse is there also.

We didn't even know this was there! Interesting - could use more signage and explanation. No tour guides - completely do on our own.

We went with friends to see this Historic Site on a warm summer day. You can just imagine what it might have been like back in the Revolutionary War and used up through World War II. We were able to go into the lighthouse too....More

This is an interesting historical spot, but it is not well maintained and is on an active military installation. There is no parking to speak of, and when you enter you have to stay on a painted line to walk to the facility. We had...More

There isn't much here except the story of the first conflict, and victory, for US patriots. Even before Lexington and Concord. The views are wonderful. Stop and appreciate our history.

I recently visited here on a beautiful day being that it wasn't too hot or too cold. My favorite part about it was the view of the ocean with all the surrounding boats and 2 lighthouses. It felt a little bit like Maine and being...More

While not what some think of as a "fort" in the typical sense, it as a part of the protection of Portsmouth Harbor and does hold a place in American history. "In 1791 the state of New Hampshire gave the United States the neck of...More

We were pleasantly surprised at what we say and explored. The Grounds Keeper was so very helpful in explaining so much. We enjoyed talking to him and get more information about other places to see. Now it is located on a U.S. Coast Guard Station...More
