Sail aboard the Piscataqua, a traditional reproduction of the flat-bottom gundalow barges that were once prevalent along local waterways. Educational, informative and fun, a sail is a great way to explore the sights and sounds of the Piscataqua River. Morning, afternoon, and sunset sails run Memorial Day through Columbus Day, and we offer weekly specialty sails featuring music, guest speakers, local tastings, and more. Private charters are also available.

Interesting way to learn about local history during the Revolutionary War and hear about the area on both sides of the river while rocking back and forth in a slow moving boat.

Very peaceful sail on a beautiful fall day, out on Great Bay. Other trips usually go up (down?) the river to the ocean. Really great captain and docent. The crew also gave us a lot of ideas about other historical places to visit and things...More

We lucked out with a gorgeous night for this cruise. With our wine and snacks, we set sail promptly at 4:30. The crew was lovely and very informative. It was a great cruise which we will now make an annual event.

This boat ride is special for kids, teens, families and oldsters. Boarding is near Strawberry Banke, a Williamsburg, VA type attraction in Portsmouth, NH. Boats of this sort were the "truckers" of New England for over 200 years. They plied the shallow river waterways delivering...More

A pleasant way to spend a couple of hours cruising the beautiful Portsmouth (NH) harbor in a replica of a "gundalow" -- a shallow-draft barge-like boat with an unusual sail, used for river shipping in the area during the 17th-19th centuries. We did the two-hour...More
