Madame Sherri Forest is the place Madame Sherri chose to build her castle. Her story is very interesting and, although the castle is long gone, the remaining stone staircase is very impressive. Narrow back roads lead to the forest, but it is a very short walk into the woods to reach the stairs. Great place for photos!

What a gorgeous forest to visit in the fall! Go to Indian Pond, it is such a sight with the gorgeous red, orange and gold trees surrounding the water. It was fun to climb the ruins of Madame Sherri's castle and picture this character's life (read about it near parking). Take your time here, the area is just absolutely beautiful.

My partner and I have gone twice now and have done two separate trails, and seen the castle! It's beautiful and a very nice hike!! Challenging at times with the leaves but very fun! Our dogs love it!

Trails are nice and great place for morning walk if you are staying at riverside. It is a dirt road getting there and trails are hilly but worth it for your morning excercise.

There is off road parking and info boards to tell you Madame Sherri's story. You can picture stepping back in time and imagining how cool this place was in its day. At this point, you see the stone remnants of the house and can walk a couple of trails. It is a must see if you like a little history... More

The ruins itself aren't very impressive but are a short walk from the parking area. The nearby looping hikes are worth the walk though. There are some great scenic views.

We hiked 3 mikes in the Madame Sherrie/ann stokes trail on Sunday. Returned to our car with rock thrown through window. Several other vehicles also, broken into and damaged. Quick cash, wallets, and phones were stolen. State Police and chief of west chesterfield were called and were very helpful to,our needs. Just a fair warning. Other than that, it was a... More

We stopped here on the way to visit family. It was always on a list of places I wanted to visit. We arrived here in June, but really would like to go back in the fall. It is a short walk from the immediate parking lot to the ruins. It was fascinating, knowing the story and seeing pictures (prior to... More

Up a steep hill....and not much to see. Read the story about her which is interesting....but no need really to visit.

Took a short walk to see the castle in the woods, worth the trip to find it. We walked to the top of the staircase.
