This little museum is built on the site where Edison had his famous Menlo Park Invention Factory. He invented the light bulb and phonograph here. The museum is very small but has lots of interesting authentic details, including some of the original wax cylinder recordings Edison made. Outside in the adjoining small park area is a large art deco obelisk... More

Small Museum.... but one you should visit at least once in your lifetime. The first street that had electricity ... this is the street. This is the sight where Edison Created his first working light bulb. Total time you will spend in this landmark location may only be 30 min to an hour... it is worth the stop. One Block... More

I've driven past the Thomas Edison Center at Menlo Park about a hundred times. Its just a few short blocks from Route 27 (part of the original 1913 transcontinental Lincoln Highway), the Amtrak northeast corridor rail line, and Metropark station. Today I had about an hour to kill, so I stopped in. First, the name. TripAdvisor has listings for Thomas... More

Visited this place with family and were greeted very warmly by the attending staff, who gave us a brilliant tour of this centre, which was very informative and improved our knowledge of several products which we had never seen anywhere!

Take time to visit the center that was the site of the laboratory of the greatest inventor of the world - Thomas Alva Edison. A study of his laboratory shows that this man was a genius and far far ahead of his time.

This small memorial is well worth your time. Staff is very well-versed on Edison's life and inventions. They are very proud of the "wizard of Menlo park" contributions. This site is small and mighty and your suggested $5 donation is a tax deductible contribution. An eternal light and phonograph music commemorate Edison. There is a small park with picnic tables... We stopped in to check out the park while driving towards NYC. They were power washing the area around the memorial tower but we were able to go inside it and check out the grounds but couldn't read any of the large plaques that were on the outside of the tower. We also checked out the light bulb across the... More

We have been to Edison's home and West Orange lab - but we had no idea that this site in Menlo Park existed! A quick drive and easy parking to the small museum and tower. We had a lovely tour and background of Edison and the property from Joanne. Then she took us out to the tower to take a... More

Interesting to walk where Edison once did. Place looks great. Would go back at night just to see it lit up

The museum is small but my kids (6 & 9 years old) were able to look at some of Edison's inventions up close and personal. The tower is newly renovated but we didn't get to see it lit up at night. The grounds are nice for a lunch at the picnic tables. This is a nice stop to see where... More
