This is really a great park. Good for families, couples, friends or alone. You can almost touch the Statue of Liberty and the views of Manhattan and the Upper Bay are breathtaking. They magic of the place is in the simplicity... walkways and grass without a lot of other buildings to distract you from the view. Even if you are... More

When it snows go to the park, miles and miles of white snow with the Manhattan Skyline! We need snowmobiles.

Loved the park itself, especially the train station on the way to the ferry to Liberty Island. The views of New York are incredible, and well worth the time to stroll along the waterfront. The train station, with the vintage train schedules posted, are excellent, and provide a wonderful sense of history. About the only heads up to give is... More

If all you want is a good picture with Lady Libert in the back ground, this is the place for you. Parking was not a problem, lots of it for free. Safety and cleanliness was great. If we had wanted to go to ellis island, we could have since there was a ferry, but it was way to cold for... More

Our main focus was the Statue of Liberty but Liberty State Park merits a few hours of time along the way. Excellent views of the city, a historic railroad station and the Empty Sky Memorial are among the reasons for allocating some time to enjoy the park.

Having followed the Statue Cruises map (not reading the text) which places the marker for the Liberty ferry leaving from the jetty at the State Park we were surprised to find we were a good 40min walk from where we wanted to be. Popping into the Rangers office we were bluntly told no ferries left from there, so we enjoyed... More

Liberty State Park is the best place to go to travel to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. There is plenty of parking without going into NYC to get there. The park itself has the best views of the New York skyline! This is a nice place to walk along the river with many places to stop and rest.

Liberty state park has the most beautiful view of the New York City skyline and it provides a wonderful environment for any day of the week and any occasion. I love to go for a jog there or picnic with friends or bar b que....the boardwalk is just beautiful...calm and very refreshing place to sit or walk...

We caught a ferry from lower Manhatten. The park has lovely tree lined walks and is near a Science Museum. You can get the ferry to the Statue of Liberty from there Booking far in advance seems necessary to go up the Statie. The old disused railway terminus was impressive and the view of Manhatten alone makes the trip worthwhile
