Okay For A Walk. As Beaches Go, Not Much Else

The beach offers a unique view of New York City far in the distance, especially on a clear day. The beach itself has been covered in debris each time I have visited. Much of the... read more

I had good opportunity to walk, despite a little handicap of my right foot, on wet sand and loved the experience. The best part was sight of young women in burkini in sea water, which showed that this is an acceptable beach for conservative people.

Particularly in the late fall and early spring this is where I enjoy fishing at. You can get a good cast out and the bay always seems to have some type of fish biting. It is really cool to bring in a decent sized bluefish from shore and that is mainly what I go for. Very peaceful only people taking... More

Ok, so the Burg is not Atlantis, or Discovery Cove... It is however, a fun, close (hopefully) and reasonably priced option, if you live near the Jersey Shore. The old, (kind of beat up) Boardwalk is a place where you can ride some of the same exact rides your parents and maybe grand parents rode. The Spook House closed after... More

I enjoy going for walks on the beach. The views of New York are wonderful. The town has a clean up on some weekends.I encourage you to take your trash off the beach with you.I will often pick up any trash I come across while I walk.Help keep this beach clean.

Dirty and infested with flies. It is technically a beach but not one that you can go to and swim and enjoy.

The beach is newly renovated from being devastated from Hurricane Sandy, it's free and it's huge! There are free concerts down by the LaPlaya Mexican restaurant every Thursday at 7pm, until September 10th. The borough has a new website and Facebook with more details. Also, the borough is looking for vendors to rent kayaks and such next summer. It's up... More

We went there to celebrate my son 9th birthday and was highly disappointed. The beach was dirty with trash and broken seashells, the water was brown and murky looking with dead sea animals ,the kids were freaking out. It was so windy we couldn't keep the umbrella up. Meter parking is $2.00 coins only for one hour that's a ripoff. You... More

The beach offers a unique view of New York City far in the distance, especially on a clear day. The beach itself has been covered in debris each time I have visited. Much of the debris I see is natural - such as seaweed, wood/sticks, washed up fish, crab shells, etc., but it is still unpleasant. I do not see... More

Water and beach was pretty dirty. A lot of trash lying around and drunk people partying all over. Around 10 people were fishing from the beach in the middle of all the swimmers. It's free and no lifeguards.

The water at this beach is horrible! There are dead crabs, broken beer bottles, and garbage along the beach. The only good thing I like about this beach is that you can actually swim because you don't have to worry about large waves knocking and dragging you out as this water is not part of the ocean. There are no... More
