Great view of the Pyrenees- Good beginners ski area with some runs for those who are progressing from beginner to intermediate Our experience was influenced by the unusual heatwave which quickly turned slushy in the early afternoon. Overall the runs are shorter than the Alps and less extensive- this is very much a french ski area where french is the... More

Bit wobbly up in the cable car but when the snow is good this is great skiing. We had a wonderful time skiing here.

You can either drive to the ski field or get the Gondola from the town, it is a 15 minute trip up the mountain. If you chose to drive no one had chains so I would presume they are not needed. From the gondola drop off point there is an intermediate piste. If you want a very easy run you... More

Superbagneres could be so much more than it is. It has the old hotel and a few restaurants but nothing else to attract visitors who aren't skiing in winter or walking in the summer. Skiing is quite limited with only about 10 ski lifts serving a skiable area of (I would guess) around 30 or 40km. The ski area seems... More

Drove up on a sunny day with the mountain tops showing snow in october. It was beautiful with the snow on top of the highest mountains. Only draw back was that there were no toilets open as ski season not open

Biked superbagneres from Luz st sauveur. Consistent grade of 8% with spots that are 10%. The last K is fairly steep about 10-12%. Beautiful ride. We did this in September and there is nothing open at the top so be prepared. If you are ambitious on your way down turn and ride up to Hospice of France. This is another... More

The views from the top of the mountain are spectacular , the valley below and the peaks across the Spanish border , and the ride up in the cable car well worth it . Plenty of places for refreshment at the top , or for the energetic , plenty of walking and cycling ( you can take your cycle up... More

My partner and I were visiting Luchon and wanted to take in the views above, from Superbagneres. We drove up (30 mins for a trip that is about 1.6 miles in distance). This is because of the long and twisty road that snakes its way round the mountain to get you to the top. We wanted to take this option... More

Traveled to Bagneres-de-Luchon France this past July to do some bicycling as it is conveniently located near several excellent Pyrenees Mountain climbs. Superbagneres is one of them. It's a pretty steady grade, a few spots kick up slightly (but there are also a few flat spots). It's a comfortable distance and once you make it to the summit, the view... More
