This beach is very family friendly. We stayed at the Pavillion which is a half block off the boardwalk. You can rent bikes for one or for the family at a reasonable price. The boardwalk is bustling with all ages in the morning walking, running...More

I am partial to OC since I have been coming here for over 60 years. Now here with grandchildren who are loving it as much as their parents did. The sand is soft, beaches clean and live guards every other block. Although there are beach...More

Crowded, yes...but still a great place for the family made all the better by the absence of booze. Well kept, well groomed and clean. Beach tabs...reasonable...needed from 10-5 or so. A perputual joy!

Beware of the crowded beaches. They only allow you to swim between flags placed in the sand by the lifeguards. The lifeguards crowd all the swimmers into a small space and it's ridiculous. All that beach and such a limited swimming area. Delaware and Maryland...More

Went here daily while on vacation. Not crowded like other beaches in Monmouth county. Weekly badges are inexpensive.

We try to go to OC every year, even if it is just for a day. This year we were on the 9th street beach. Usually we are around 15th or 17th. The 9th street beach has a cool feature, with a stone jetty going...More

I spent a day on the beach yesterday - took me about an hour drive - but the beach itself is ok - water seemed ok - the area is over going an incredible growth and especially properties by beach are very well maintained .

This is very nice sandy beach that is clean. The water is clean too and there are lifeguards around. On the downside if you are above say 20th street there are no food stores, bathrooms, or restaurants, and no beach chairs or umbrella rentals. Overall,...More

Beach was nice and clean but there was a lot of seaweed. Rented 4 chairs and umbrella for $32. Water was warm.

Ocean City beach staff, I live an hour one way from Ocean city but drive this 3 times a week to enjoy the beach with family and friends. I come even on rainy days just for the shopping and restaurants. But this year has been bitter experience due to the over crowing of personal tents, easy ups and other over sized family forts. I want people to enjoy the beach as well but feel some sort of enforcement needs to be put in place to regulate this issue. Either band them all together, charge people per shelter a 20.00 seasonal fee or 11.00 daily fee for these oversized shelters when they pitch tents on the beach for the day, or make them place the apparatuses toward the back of the beach where the public isn't at harm when the winds pick up and make these a dangerous projectile. I have been hit twice now by flying umbrellas and a shelter that wasn't properly tied down when the wind instantly kicked up. These are dangerous and need to be addressed. If people had to pay this fee it could go back into ocean city and perhaps the people would be a little more responsible when setting them up. Smoking and drinking is going on out in the open now and these shelters are not the issue when it comes to this problem. The issue seems to be going on between the life guards, I'm on the beach usually by 8 am and don't leave till around 5pm and it is clear that the beach is not being patrolled when the open containers of alcohol and smoking are clear and present. I am very disappointed this year but know that you will look into this and make some sort of decision to better serve and protect your patrons.

This isn't a question but I applaud you for writing this. The beach hogs can be quite annoying, but I am thankful that I don't live next door to them. We go on the beach to enjoy the view of the ocean and relax, but the... More
