Family friendly. The best way to describe this beach is there are no blaring radios. It gets packed but people are considerate and not obnoxious

Having recently arrived from a 12-mile beach in Virginia, we were very disappointed with Ocean City Beach. The life-guarded area was crowded and small. The beach was crowded. Cigarette butts everywhere. No clear instructions. We arrived at 4:45 and could not find anywhere to purchase...More

Have just spent the last two weeks at Ocean city nj. A great time was had by all. Stayed at 53rd st. The beach is really wide there. It is quite the hike to get to the water. Will definitely be back next year.

The Ocean City Lifeguard Camp is held twice a summer and is awesome for the kids. My twins have been doing it for years. The guards that run it under Coach Conner are the nicest, most engaging young people you can imagine. They get every...More

Beautiful sandy beach with plenty of space to lay out or play. Waves are friendly enough for toddlers to be in the water. Great place to kayak, paddle board, surf, skim, or simply play in the waves.

There is good surf but not too rough for the kids, great for Boogie board which I do with my Daughter every year. She got a nice slick bottom board last year and I still have my 30 Year old Moray Boogie and baptize it...More

Nice wide beach with awesome life guards. I've seen them helping people in trouble or near the rocks and they are very skilled. Beach is so clean and offers beach chairs and umbrellas for a small fee. The umbrellas are nice too. Kids can dig...More

sorry I m late to answer.
Ocean City beach staff, I live an hour one way from Ocean city but drive this 3 times a week to enjoy the beach with family and friends. I come even on rainy days just for the shopping and restaurants. But this year has been bitter experience due to the over crowing of personal tents, easy ups and other over sized family forts. I want people to enjoy the beach as well but feel some sort of enforcement needs to be put in place to regulate this issue. Either band them all together, charge people per shelter a 20.00 seasonal fee or 11.00 daily fee for these oversized shelters when they pitch tents on the beach for the day, or make them place the apparatuses toward the back of the beach where the public isn't at harm when the winds pick up and make these a dangerous projectile. I have been hit twice now by flying umbrellas and a shelter that wasn't properly tied down when the wind instantly kicked up. These are dangerous and need to be addressed. If people had to pay this fee it could go back into ocean city and perhaps the people would be a little more responsible when setting them up. Smoking and drinking is going on out in the open now and these shelters are not the issue when it comes to this problem. The issue seems to be going on between the life guards, I'm on the beach usually by 8 am and don't leave till around 5pm and it is clear that the beach is not being patrolled when the open containers of alcohol and smoking are clear and present. I am very disappointed this year but know that you will look into this and make some sort of decision to better serve and protect your patrons.

This isn't a question but I applaud you for writing this. The beach hogs can be quite annoying, but I am thankful that I don't live next door to them. We go on the beach to enjoy the view of the ocean and relax, but the... More
