We show first-run films of high artistic quality. We’ve added special programming like classic Hollywood and foreign language films; filmmaker appearances and lectures; Saturday kids matinees; and theatrically broadcast events such as from the National Theatre in London. We endeavor to improve the quality of hospitality and service from the theater’s staff. The Garden is operated as a nonprofit, tax-exempt entity. All revenues, memberships and gifts are reinvested in the theater.

Not particularly attractive or comfortable, but venue offers really nice combination of art house and classic movies, rather like the old Thalia in NY. The reason to go here is that they are showing a film you want to see.

Nice quaint theater in the heart of Princeton that usually shows quirky and/or independent movies rather than the usual selection of "blockbusters"

Plays a little t of indie movies that you don't see other places in NJ. Refreshments are mostly natural, has a counterculture vibe. Not the fanciest, but a great place to see off beat films.

Aside of the average, main stream offerings this vintage, non-profit theatre also shows classics like Jaws, Casablanca and more throughout the year. Every Thursday during the summer is billed as a "Summer Night" with a different vintage feature each week. Real popcorn with real butter....More

This theater shows a lot of independent film that's not available on main stream movie theater. Great place to go after dinner in town.

I love going to catch a movie here. For one they have usually a good selection despite only having a couple screens. Secondly, it is run as a non-profit. Thirdly, the staff are always friendly. Finally, it is right in the heart of Princeton, so...More

So enjoyed seeing Gone Girl at the Princeton Garden Theater. Loved the feeling of "community" with the others in the audience before and during the movie. None of the fancy bells & whistles of the giant, impersonal multiplexes but who needs those anyway! And, they...More
