NJ, where I grew up, is a place of contrasts. ANd in this instance, it is most worth seeking out the pleasant, rural and uncrowded contrast - escape the urban corridor and the mega-sprawl and take a day trip up into the Ramapo Mountains.

Beautiful state park, went to take pictures it is really beautiful! There is a visitors center for bathrooms. Looks to walk thru, beautiful flowers, a nice place tucked away!

The manor was really beautiful. Nicer the expected when I saw the outside of the home. The area around is breathtaking! Stunning grounds. A very calm place to spend a nice day

Visited the park for my first hike which began and end near the manor. The trails we took were considered moderate, which weren't as taxing as I would have expected. There weren't a lot of bugs, but that may have been due to the time...More

a safe, relaxing day with beautiful things to see, and many historical events taking place there. not only it is a scenic area with many trees and many flowers but also historic things to view

Yes, there are grills by almost all picnic benches We have never used them but I've seen others doing so The park is Carry In/Carry Out (i.e. no trash cans) so I am unsure how you deal with the hot coals or any other... More

Yes. I saw lots of people with the furry pets. So I believe that they are allowed.
