Port Imperial is two things. For the commuters it is the ferry terminal that I tend to avoid because it is too expensive and the NYC drop-offs are not very convenient (I explain more in my NY Waterway review).

The second, which is what this review is, is the area of Port Imperial which is a gorgeous planned development on the Hudson. There are hotels, shops, restaurants, and IMO the most important thing, the riverwalk. Second only to Hamilton Park, these are the best views of midtown anywhere.

There is parking (avoid the ferry terminal, especially on weekdays) throughout the area so if you are coming from out of town for dinner and a stroll it is convenient.

Overall, a lovely place with outstanding infrastructure and views.

The port is nice and clean! They have a good set of trip times and they do take you to multiple locations depending on where you're trying to go in New York.

Amazing views at night, easy to access the ferry over to the city. The area does feel a little shady late at night but overall nice!

Port imperial is one of those special pieces of heaven right in the middle of the sprawling NY city jungle. You get beautiful views of the city along with the ability to escape the stressful rat race of Manhattan and experience serenity. There is a great sense of community with people helping people along with a special dog park facing the Hudson and the NYC Skyline. Great restaurants, shops and way way less congestion than NYC. Best of all, if you want to experience NYC, the water ferry is right there for a beautiful and quick trip across the Hudson.

such a great place: it is very relaxing and offers a nice view of New York's skyline. If you're staying at the Residence Inn right in front of this port, i suggest you take a walk on Port Imperial, it is really worth it

Amazing view and a quick 10 minute ferry ride from NYC to Weekhawken $9 per person was a lot cheaper than an Uber. We stayed at the hotel Marriot walking distance from the ferry.

Our hotel was in Weehawken, NJ. It is a nice area with few hotels and restaurants. Super easy access to NY and a very safe and up scale feel.

I've taken the ferry to the NY Auto Show about 4-5x over the last 25 years and since the last time in 2008, they have added all kinds of parking garages and condos/offices to the waterfront area. It's kind of difficult dealing with the traffic getting to and from this area but once here, there were some traffic attendants for guidance which was helpful. We were able to park and get on the first ferry, once we validated our printout and were given ferry tickets. To park for 5.5 hrs, it cost $16 and you need to pay at a kiosk before taking the elevator back up to your vehicle, you need to go to the lobby.

I have used a free shuttle to the car show in the past but there was none on this day. There were employees out there to make sure you were headed in the right direction.
