Fantastic place for seeing elephants, there are always hundreds of them. Mothers and babies in one spot and the boys in another. You don't really need an organised tour.

Sitting in an open Landrover we experienced the closest of encounters with over 300 elephants during our guided tour. It left members of the tour in tears of joy and each of us with memories that will last a lifetime. How anyone can kill/poach these beautiful creatures is beyond me! This location is one that has to be seen to... More

Fly or drive into Port Elizabeth and from there on the N2 to the eastern Colchester gate of the Addo Park. From here you have the whole day to do a leisured drive through the park, have a great picnic at Jack's Picnic spot arriving at the western main gate late in the afternoon. Here you can have a late... More

We stopped here on a road trip across South Africa as we had a bit of extra time and are so glad we did. The wildlife was outstanding if a bit frightening when the car was surrounded by elephants, but we followed the rules and no harm done for a thrill of a lifetime.

Stunning day! Literally 100's of Ellie's at Hapoor and then saw a bull elephant come to the aid of a kudu calf under attack from three jackals! Great breakfast at the restaurant too! What an asset just 30min from our doorstep. The only reason I'd not give a full 5 rating is that the entry procedure at the gate -... More

Scenic place lots of antelope and gazelle sadly missed the 550 elephants but then 3 kindly were at the waterhole for us so all was not lost. Interesting place with good shop and tea rooms/restaurant.

Stayed in Addo Rest Camp from 1pm until 9am the next day. The semi detached chalet was lovely, with a great view over the park and our very own herd of elephants in the distance. We managed to get on the 3 pm game drive and saw elephants, buffalo, kudu, wart hogs and jackal. Our driver was entertaining and the... More

You can go for your own by car or by a guided tour to meet the big five... we spent an impressive day at Addo, watching the lions hunting, the cheetahs lying lazy beneath the bushes, many elephants and buffalos, Zebras and Turtles- only the Rhino didn´t appear...

Great experience. I was worried about having a restless 4 year old in the car for a day. But all the amazing wild life and great terrain made the day absolutely delightful for all of us. Well done Parks Board for creating a great family experience so close to PE.

Our first visit to this National Park was a total win; organised through our local accommodation at Hitgeheim just 10-15 minutes away, in game viewing vehicles. Apparently there are about 600 elephants in this park and so seeing them wasn’t difficult. Arriving around 9am, a family of them was coming down to the waterhole while our vehicle party was still...
