Nice 4 x 4 trail with great views saw some nice birds. As mentioned before it's not a super taxing 4 x 4 route and the first half is very easy. Then you climb some hills to get the views and 4 x 4 is very handy. Despite the great views the map it rubbish. Sanparks should provide a proper... More

The beginning is quite daunting, hang on tight and take it slow. After the first narrow and bumpy bit, you will enjoy beautiful views and a better drive. Need high clearance!!!!!! It doesn't take long, 4 hours easily but you should take a picnic to enjoy in the shade. We saw lots of animals so drive cautiously. Well worth it!

If you happen to be around, do not limit your visit just to the standard game reserve where most people go. The track offers wonderful scenic views particularly in its second part (if you start at Mvubu campsite). Most of the track can be driven even without 4x4 switched-on, there are however a few ascends where you will appreciate also... More

The Kabouga 4x4 trail is just that a no frills wonderful wildreness experience through some truly spectacular scenery and mountain passes. Most of the route can be comfortably completed in normal drive mode but once one enters the Bedrogfontein section it becomes necessary, at times to engage low ration 4x4. There is a charming cottage offering comfortable accommodation, decent braai... More
