Stopped to do a wine tasting and enjoyed the atmosphere so much, we decided to stay for lunch too! The wine tasting experience was also quit unique. They have such a wide variety of wines and various ranges to choose from, each being paired with different food options from sweet to savoury. The table next to us had a bunch... More

Wine tasting at Van Loveren is unhurried, informative and pleasant. Four glasses were R20, very reasonable for the quality. We then had lunch at Christina's Bistro; starters were good and then for main we both chose the hake which was so tasty. The helpings were enormous. The staff were very friendly and the prices were reasonable, The only problem were... More

Here's where TripAdvisor falls short by not having a 3.5 star rating option - between average and very good. Had a Saturday lunch at Christina's restaurant - we had the rib eye special and calamari. Our meals were tasty, yet pricey for what we got (by JHB standards). Service was good - friendly and attentive.

We enjoyed a visit to Van Loveren and thoroughly enjoyed the walk through the beautiful gardens lovingly planted by the matriarch of the family. The tasting room is a delight and the options available to one cover most tastes. Well worth the time.

The menu was good, but service was quite slow. The food was well presented and good variety in the menu.

My absolute favourite Wine Cellar. Take your pick of about 10 different wine tastings - sit inside or under the trees in the shady garden. We've visited this cellar a few times - and every time the staff is very friendly and helpful. The most amazing wines. And don't forget the refillable 3L bottle red wine!!

We had a late Sunday lunch at van Loveren and the staff were kind enough to arrange a tasting at the restaurant. The waitresses at the restaurant deserve a special mention for being so great at that time of the day! Thank you Celia and Carmen for adding great service to delicious food in a beautiful garden.
