Not much left, just a closed tower and part of the walls, bit very close to the museum where we were and excellent views of Kruje and its surroundings.

The castle itself is a ruin, but the view is fabulous. You can see all the way to the Adriatic. No wonder Skanderbeg picked this spot.

While I understand the importance of this place to Albanian history, there are much more impressive sites even in Albania. The castle looks impressive from outside, but once inside you realize there isn't much here. Throw in the fact that there's a mood killing modern...More

My visit to this place was a great experience. it is well maintained with a stone road and shops on both sides that sells hand crafted and other merchandise. You pass the shops on your way to the castle so try and pop in, take...More

Visiting Kruja Castle is pretty easy - hike up through the market and follow the relatively short but steep path into the castle ruins. There is no charge to wander around the castle ground (you will have to pay to enter the modern museum). Hike...More

For my money, it's more impressive looking from the outside looking in, but it's worth the short (but steep) climb up to explore inside, visit the two museum, and the find the pretty teqe. Good view out toward the west on a clear day; it...More

You definitely must come to Kruja and visit the Old Bazaar, the Castle, the Skanderbeg Museum and the Ethnographic museum. The castle is located in a very strategic point of the city on the top of a very steep hill. The view from the Castle...More

There is a museum in the castle. The entrance fee was about € 3 per person, but I can't remember it exactly anymore. The children had to pay as well.
