My friend and I had been on rafts before but were told that was different than paddling. It is. We took the guided tour, in our own kayaks, and that felt like the right first approach to gaining some experience. The guides were helpful and fun.

It was a lot of fun and strongly recommend taking the guided tour first time out even if you've floated rivers before. Every river is different and they do an awesome job of walking (floating) you through it. Michael and Kia were awesome to float with too. It's like they've known you forever and your floating with friends.

What a wonderful time. Highly recommend taking the guided tour and not do it yourself. I've Kayak before, but it took a bit to get my river arms in motion so I felt more confident to know that we had guides. You are able to control how peaceful or exciting you want this to be. I really enjoyed hearing about... More

Thanks, Tami! Really appreciate the recommendations about avoiding alcohol and choosing a guided outing. Especially so at higher flows - we've had several choose self-guided outings to save $30.00 a person this year only to require rescue and/or evacuation. Happy to hear you had fun with our guides and the group - it's a great time - hope to see... More

We anticipated a wonderful experience - great weather, the river was highest in years with a nice flow, an excellent group, the perfect time to leisurely experience some of the beauty that defines New Mexico. We had kayaked down the river before. Our group of thirty reserved was ready ten minutes early at pickup. We waited an hour, then crowded... More

As the president and founder of Quiet Waters Paddling Adventures, I can honestly say that in over seven years of operations, I've never been more disappointed in an outing than this one. And I also agree with the one-star evaluation. That said, when reviewers choose to intentionally exaggerate and misrepresent what was obviously a negative experience, while adding healthy doses... Thanks, Terry. It looked like you all were having a great time when you floated past our group taking our lunch break. Appreciate the comment about the condition of the equipment - we go to great lengths to keep everything clean, which isn't always easy on the middle Rio! More

We took the guided kayak tour today during the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. We got there early in the morning and were on the river by 7AM. They provided hot drinks and a light breakfast before we headed out and also some nice snacks at a stop along the river. Our guides were awesome! Isaac stayed out in front and... More

This place is great! The owner and workers take pride in their work and your safety. I rented four kayaks to take down the Rio Grande and the excursion was perfect. They did all the heavy lifting, I just floated down and really relaxed and enjoyed myself. I did the self guided because I wanted some quiet time with my... More

Having lived in the northeast for may years, owning a kayak, and having access to water, I recently went through a "need to get back on the water" here in my new home in the high desert. I found Quiet Waters Paddling on line and what a great find. I chose to kayak and joined a small group of new... More

We really enjoyed our day gliding down a lazy beautiful river on our kayaks. Our guide Steph made it fun for everyone in the group. The entire organization was friendly and helpful and I would recommend spending a day with them enjoying the water. Next time we might try one of their sunset cruises.
