I was taken here on a tour for a business trip. I'm glad I went, but would not have sought out this type of place. It was interesting but I could have only spend a half hour here and been happy.

Rent a car, take a guided tour or make the pilgrimage but you must go. It is beautiful even if you view it as good people watching.

Stopping here was part of our tour on the High Road to Taos. It was well worth the stop. The grounds were beautiful; however, you are not allowed to photograph inside the church. The paintings on the wall were so beautiful and very old. There...More

I visited this place probably 10 years ago and again last month. It has changed so much. It still has the tiny church/shrine and the small pit of Holy dirt which many people attribute to healing. But it also has grown and expanded. I found...More

The church is known for its dirt and healing power. Stop by and admire the altar as well as the dirt room.

Visited recently on a bus trip through Colorado and New Mexico. The chapel here is a Roman Catholic Church and a National Historic Landmark. It is famous for the healing, sacred sand that one can remove from a pit in a small room behind the...More

Such an amazing place in such a beautiful setting, We were there on a busy Sunday morning and just being a small part of the faithful who attended the morning service was a very moving and reinvigorating experience.. You are welcome regardless of your faith!

Of course no comparison with European pilgrimage churches but nevertheless worth seeing. We were there very early and had a nice peaceful and quiet experience. It's on the way from Santa Fe to Taos and is worth the little stop.

We arrived late after the gift shop had closed but the employee there said we were welcome inside the church. It is a place of healing and many come here for that purpose. The interior of the church is quite simple but very beautiful. There...More

Not sure as i'm not a local. Suggest you call Sacred Heart or Santuario and ask about local transportation for Good Friday service.

We visited as tourists and are not Catholic, but I can tell you it is a very moving and beautiful place no matter what religion you practice.
