We stopped ot see soda dam and checked out the springs across the road. There was trash and lots of algae, which I didnt see at either of the other springs. The pool is just a collection of water pooled up beside the concrete road barrier. Not scenic, not very safe, and it just didnt look very clean either. The... More

A wonderful place to enjoy the water and the wonderful scents of nature. Watch the brave souls who climb over the rocks and slide down into the water.

Our family will stop here every time we go up to Los Alamos from Albuquerque. The kids can spend several hours playing in the water (on the other side of the dam, you will have to walk up and over the rocks to get there). Be careful walking down to the dam as the rocks can be very slippery.

The Soda Dam Historical Marker is located about 36 miles from the entrance of Bandelier, driving south on Highway 4, and it is about 1... More

It's really a unique formation. Basically it's a stalagmite outside that fell over. That said, it doesn't do the formation Justice.

Fun stop on the way to Santa Fe. Don't forget to check out the hot spring across the road from the Soda Dam.

We visit Jemez Springs a lot (mostly in summer) and we have to go to Soda Dam every time...or have unhappy kids. Always a fun time!
